Job Description:
Judd’s Hill is a family-owned winery producing small-lot, ultra-premium wine in the Napa Valley. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and organized hospitality professional to help lead our Tasting Room team in this newly created position of Assistant Tasting Room Manager. Our ideal Assistant Tasting Room Manager candidate will excel at sales, service, wine education and have the ability to bring out the best in our Tasting Room team.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of one year Tasting Room leadership experience
Strong sales training and team leadership skills
Ability to maintain a positive, solutions-oriented attitude
Extensive wine knowledge and basic wine production knowledge
Excellent attention to detail and a committed work ethic
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to consistently work a weekend schedule
Ability to stand for long periods and lift 50 lbs regularly
Proficiency in MS office suite and excellent MS excel skills
Ability to solve problems effectively and with minimal oversight
Must possess a valid CA drivers license
Prior working knowledge of Vinsuite POS system is a plus
SUMMARY OF MANAGERIAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES (includes but are not limited to the following)
Assist TR Manager in leading Tasting Room team in meeting or exceeding sales goals
Give input and support in developing new initiatives to improve customer experience and increase sales
Complete or delegate the completion of daily sales reporting
Create and manage Tasting Room employee schedule when TR Manager is out
Assist in managing order fulfillment and shipping of wine
Respond to customer service issues in a professional, warm and timely manner
Coordinate movement of wine inventory to and from offsite warehouse and fulfillment center
Assist in managing onsite wine, printed material, and Tasting Room products inventory
Manage the completion of daily opening and closing Tasting Room duties
Coordinate with production team the use of cellar space for consumer blending sessions, and seminars.
Develop and conduct marketing outreach (in person, via email and phone) to local hospitality partners and tour companies
SUMMARY OF SALES AND HOSPITALITY DUTIES (includes but are not limited to the following)
Provide world-class service while conducting tastings, guest blending sessions, and seminars
Maintain a position of sales leadership as an example to the Tasting Room team
Assist in managing reservations and fielding inquiries for appointments
Assist with special events both offsite and onsite
COMPENSATION
This is a full time, benefited position that includes vacation, paid holidays and a medical insurance plan. There is also the opportunity for additional incentive compensation for exceeding sales and profitability goals. Base salary will be determined by prior experience and abilities.
