Odette Estate is dedicated to crafting estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon located in the heart of Stags Leap District. We are seeking an experienced cellar hand to join our small winemaking team. This is an opportunity to gain year round experience in high end winemaking.
REPORTS TO: Directly to Enologist & Assistant Winemaker, indirectly to Winemaker
o Required to perform various work assignments including: topping, racking, clarifying, filtering and blending of juice and wine
o Responsible for sanitation in all areas of cellar operations
o Sterilize casks, tanks, and other equipment related to the production of wine making
o Gas empty barrels
o During crush, operate crusher and presses, move hoses and equipment, obtain lab samples, make additions to tanks and barrels, aid in pumpovers/punchdowns, dispose of lees, clean equipment and crush pad
o Barrel racking & movement
o Assist on bottling line
o Operate and maintain equipment such as pumps and crush equipment
o Forklift operations with barrels and case goods
o Follow and observe all safety guidelines for cellar operations

JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: College degree in Enology or related field required.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works indoors and outdoors throughout shift in facility and varied terrain.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stands/walks 100% of shift. Works with all wine making equipment. Moderate use of stairs, daily. Must be able to lift 55 pounds.
