Tonnellerie Vicard, a global leader in the cooperage industry, is seeking a Sales Manager who is eager, passionate and skilled to manage existing clients and expand the brand in the USA.
The right candidate will work directly with the parent company in France. Applicants should be self-motivated, self-disciplined and organized as we expect our team to deliver results without constant oversight. Experience in supply side sales is requested, and a well-developed palate and understanding of winemaking is essential for success.
The position will include heavy travel domestically and occasional international travel. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are mandatory.
-Existing network of winemaking contacts is a STRONG plus
-Experience in sales or selling environment in the wine industry is preferable
-Strong sense of how to deliver effective customer service, understand appropriate follow-up and how to close.
-Very comfortable with public speaking and presenting technical data in a variety of situations including meetings with winemakers, senior winery executives, large wine groups, seminars, symposiums and trade shows.
-Be proactive in learning and staying current on industry trends and be an active participant in industry events.
-Identify, qualify and cultivate new sales leads from databases, events, referrals, personal network, and cold calls.
-Computer proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point and other basic business programs
-BA or BS degree preferred
-Conduct oneself in an appropriate and business-like and professional manner, building strong relationships both internally and externally.
-Long and irregular hours including some weekends and holidays may be required based upon business needs.
