The Manager – Enthusiast Programs is responsible for the overall service and operational success of Enthusiast programs, including but not limited to culinary and wine boot camps, Saturday Kitchens and wine classes, CIA Skills, Chef Demonstrations, and custom client education and events. The Manager will oversee daily tasks such as scheduling, staffing, program execution, and service delivery as well as provide input for department growth and promotional strategies.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager – Enthusiast Programs is responsible for the overall service and operational success of Enthusiast programs, including but not limited to culinary and wine boot camps, Saturday Kitchens and wine classes, CIA Skills, Chef Demonstrations, and custom client education and events. The Manager will oversee daily tasks such as scheduling, staffing, program execution, and service delivery as well as provide input for department growth and promotional strategies. The Manager will collaborate with key roles involved to enable client satisfaction and maintain fiscal success. The Manager will interface with a wide variety of departments, therefore effective communication and professionalism with colleagues will be required. This role requires autonomous decision-making in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. All duties performed will promote the CIA’s core values for excellence, professionalism, ethics and respect for diversity.



ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with others to design, develop and deliver Enthusiast programs with exceptional standards of quality while meeting or exceeding financial goals.
Work closely with Assistant Director – Enthusiast Programs CA to create program schedule for both Copia and Greystone.
Requisition, organize, and maintain all supplies for the Napa Valley Vintners Theater, Rudd Center, Food Enthusiast programs at Greystone, and custom classes through proper purchasing systems, exercising best practices with regard to cost control, inventory and budget maintenance.
Oversee successful coordination of all programs, including set ups, providing print materials and proper gifts, maintaining website accuracy, managing on campus restaurant reservations, housing and transportation, and special requests.
Responsible for service staff training, scheduling, and payroll approval.
Assist in creating and managing budgets associated with all job duties, and periodically report on budget activities.
Create and maintain efficient departmental systems.
Monitor registration level for classes and contribute to Marketing by suggesting internal and external advertising efforts; contribute to Social Media as applicable.
Schedule appropriate space usage for programs at both Copia and Greystone.
Thoroughly communicate pertinent information to all parties on behalf of Enthusiast programs.
Continually improve on the standard of excellence in customer service for all client interactions. Develop new client relationships in support of generating future business.
Work closely with other campuses on all guest service standards to assure the same excellent customer service enterprise wide.
Attend monthly California Enthusiast and national meetings.
Communicate in a timely and concise manner to all internal and external emails, phone calls and guest requests.
Establish collaborative partnerships with all levels within the CIA.
Stay abreast of new developments in the wine and beverage, food-service, and hospitality industries.
Show leadership in all capacities.
Maintain client confidentiality at all times.
Any and all other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor’s degree
Experience:

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the foodservice or event planning industry.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or a related field
Sommelier Certificate
On-site event planning and guest coordination experience
Higher Education work experience
Experience using purchasing or procurement software
Experience with Continuity database management system
Experience with GroupWise and Eatec
Experience with 25Live


REQUIRED SKILLS

Ability to use sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information with confidentially and discretion.
Demonstrated ability to show a high level of service responsiveness to customers as well as a high level of energy and self-motivation.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent organizational skills particularly in terms of event planning and coordination.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to be adaptable, positive, dependable and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Strong leadership skills with excellent organizational skills particularly in terms of event planning and coordination.
Thorough understanding of the foodservice and hospitality industry both from professional and non-professional culinary perspectives.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.


WORKING CONDITIONS

Regular work requires a great deal of sitting, standing, lifting, bending and stretching.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time; up to eight (8) hours.
Ability to work in extreme temperatures hot and cold for long periods.
Must be able to work holidays and weekends as required to meet business needs.
Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) lbs.
