Position Summary

Are you known as the go-to person for mechanical and refrigeration technical solutions for your organization? Do you enjoy imparting your technical knowledge and expertise to others to obtain the best outcome? If so, keep reading! As the Mechanical & Refrigeration Engineer, you are responsible for developing, implementing, and ensuring compliance of company-wide standards in the areas of industrial refrigeration and mechanical systems. You will provide technical expertise to engineering, production, and maintenance teams across the company, also ensuring there is alignment with project deliverables. With your day to day support and technical guidance of operational and capital initiatives, we will exceed expectations in delivering against key objectives of growth, revenue, product quality, and operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for industrial refrigeration systems design, infrastructure, compliance, and efficiency improvements across the company
• Lead the development and implementation of company-wide specifications and ensure all aspects of engineering and/or maintenance projects meet established specifications, requirements and compliance
• Provide technical expertise, guidance and training to engineering project managers as well as production, compliance, and maintenance teams across sites
• Interface with vendors and contractors ensuring mechanical specifications and system requirements are incorporated from preliminary design through execution of projects
• Develop risk assessments in partnership with site teams of mechanical integrity and process hazards regarding refrigeration systems
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data to find losses and identify continuous improvement strategies driving cost reduction and operational efficiencies
• Support the development of master plans, capital plans and budgets in partnership with the engineering and site teams as well as other key stakeholders
• Collaborate with cross functional team and business stakeholders to manage project scope decisions, critical financial decisions, and change controls
• Support M&A business assessments and project activities, as needed
• Collaborate with engineering and cross functional colleagues on best practice application developing a culture of high performance

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, including 5+ years' experience managing engineering and/or operations related projects in a CPG, Food and/or Beverage manufacturing environment
• Expertise and knowledge in refrigeration systems design and maintenance especially with ammonia, glycol and chilled water systems
• Experience planning and executing multi-million dollars, complex and multi-phase projects
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement specifications across multiple sites
• Robust analytical and planning skills, as well as ability to prioritize work effectively
• Excellent communication and influencing skills
• Results oriented change agent
• Problem solver

• Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time and work on a computer for extended periods. Lifting may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
