Tasting Room Lead – Beacon Hill Winery

Location: Yamhill-Carlton AVA (30 minutes from Beaverton)
Schedule: Thursday – Monday, with occasional evening events
Compensation: $17-22/hour (DOE) + tips, plus 50% employee discount on wine

Beacon Hill Winery & Vineyard is an estate-driven winery dedicated to crafting high-quality wines at attainable prices. Nestled in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, we also farm and manage two vineyards in the Dundee Hills AVA. At the core of our philosophy is genuine hospitality, ensuring that every guest feels welcome—whether they are new to wine or seasoned enthusiasts.

As a Tasting Room Lead, you'll have the opportunity to meet visitors from across the country and beyond, sharing not just our wines but the incredible bounty and beauty of Oregon. We believe a great wine experience is about more than just what’s in the glass—it’s about storytelling, connection, and creating lasting memories.

Key Responsibilities
•  Engage & Educate Guests – Provide a warm, welcoming experience by sharing our winery’s history, winemaking process, and details about the Yamhill-Carlton & Dundee Hills AVAs.
•  Be an Oregon Ambassador – Introduce visitors to the richness of Oregon wine country, its landscapes, flavors, and vibrant community.
•  Wine Sales & Service – Confidently guide guests through tastings, make recommendations, and facilitate sales with a focus on hospitality over hard selling.
•  Tasting Room Operations – Serve guests at the bar, manage reservations via TeamUp, process orders through Square POS, and assist with back-of-house tasks (busing, glass polishing, food service, and cleaning).
•  Leadership & Independence – Efficiently open and close the Tasting Room, assist with administrative tasks, and provide exceptional service both in person and over the phone.
•  Team Collaboration – Work with colleagues to maintain a positive, team-oriented environment that enhances both employee and guest experiences.

Qualifications
•  Excellent communication skills and a passion for hospitality.
•  Excitement for meeting new people and sharing the Oregon wine country experience.
•  Previous experience in hospitality, food & beverage, or the service industry helpful but not required.
•  Availability to work weekends and occasional evening events.
•  21+ years of age with or willing to obtain OLCC and Food Handler’s Licenses.
•  Physical ability to lift 45 lbs and stand/walk for 6+ hours per shift.
