Le Vigne winery is looking for an organized, energetic and self-motivated individual to oversee the operations of our busy tasting room.
Day-to-day Responsibilities
• Manage and maintain all aspects of the tasting room, its personnel and products
• Promote the sale of wine and merchandise
• Supervise, schedule, and train tasting room staff members
• Develop and implement a training manual for tasting room operations
• Maintain and reconcile tasting room inventory of wine and merchandise
• Create special programming and promotions to drive tasting room traffic
• Oversee shipping and order fulfillment to DTC customers
• Report and track tasting room performance and prepare reports for management meetings
• Help wine club manager grow membership, increase retention rate and execute events
• Maintain and coordinate daily reservations
• Refresh tasting room wine and cheese pairings according to releases and availability
• Acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of the winery, wines and cheeses
• Oversee deli operations including cheese pairings, wedge preparation, reserved platters, etc.
Qualifications and Requirements
• 5 years supervisory experience in a customer service or hospitality setting
• 3 years wine industry experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• General wine knowledge
• Food Handler Manager’s Certificate preferred
• AMS (POS) experience desired but not required
• Must be able to work weekends
• Must be able to repeatedly lift up to 45 pounds
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid California Driver’s License
