Job Description:

Mission Hill Family Estate has long been regarded a jewel of the British Columbia wine industry; from the organic and regenerative farming of our vineyards to our award-winning wines and world class hospitality, we are driven by the relentless pursuit of excellence at every turn.

Based out of Mission Hill Family Estate, the Winemaker plays a critical role in our premium winemaking practices across our portfolio of award-winning wines and brands, specifically, Mission Hill Family Estate and Road 13 Vineyards. Reporting to the Chief Winemaker, we are looking for a high potential leader with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement in winemaking, process, equipment and maintenance.

Accountabilities & Impact:

Direct and oversee the daily wine-making functions, from grape processing, fermentation management, final blending and bottling.
Select fruit for each tier, beginning with farming protocols, picking decisions, fruit processing, and fermentation/winemaking techniques in order for each tier to possess a unique / differentiated style and flavor characteristics.
Design wine production and methods to meet existing and future quality objectives and opportunities.
Mentor and manage the growing winemaking team within Mission Hill Family Estate as well as influence the greater winemaking team.
Represent the winery and the company at promotional activities and in-market.


Skills & Experiences Needed:

Bachelor’s Degree (B.S) in Enology or Science from an accredited university.
Minimum 5 years winemaking experience and understanding of premium winemaking processes, both technical and practical.
Minimum of 2 years people leadership experience
Effectively collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in Viticulture, Marketing & Operations

The?typical hiring range for this position is $100,000 -$120,000 annually complemented by a bonus plan; the base pay is determined by market location and job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
