POSITION SUMMARY
The Tasting Room Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the tasting room, providing leadership to the tasting room staff, and ensuring an outstanding guest experience. This role involves a mix of customer service, team management, and sales responsibilities. The Tasting Room Lead will assist in training and developing staff, while also being a key ambassador for DeLille brand. They will spend time on the sales floor as well as conduct administrative duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Key Responsibilities:
• Guest Experience:
o Greet and welcome guests, ensuring a warm and hospitable atmosphere.
o Lead wine tastings and provide guests with detailed information about the winery’s products, history, and winemaking process.
o Respond to guest inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Team Leadership:
o Supervise and support tasting room staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
o Lead by example in delivering exceptional service and ensuring all staff adhere to winery policies and procedures.
o Assist with hiring and onboarding new staff members.
• Sales & Marketing:
o Promote wine sales, wine club memberships, and special events to guests.
o Achieve sales targets and encourage upselling of products and memberships.
o Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional strategies for the tasting room.
• Operations Management:
o Oversee the opening and closing procedures of the tasting room.
o Manage inventory, including ordering supplies, tracking stock levels, and organizing product displays.
o Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the tasting room and surrounding areas.
o Ensure compliance with local and state alcohol regulations and safety standards.
• Event Coordination:
o Assist in planning and executing special events, private tastings, and tours.
o Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operation of events and activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 2 years of Retail or Hospitality Management Experience
• Strong Customer First mentality
• Ability to identify and handle difficult situations while maintaining company policy and customer satisfaction
• Strong knowledge and understanding of WineDirect and TOCK
• Ability to read, understand and comprehend instructions and effectively use that information to train and coach PT retail staff.
• Valid Washington State MAST Class 12 permit and Food Handlers permit
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to work, days, nights, holidays and weekends
• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time including stairs.
• Able to lift and carry 50 lbs consistently
