Summary
Provides data analytical support and story creation for Commercial Insights & Strategy insights from market research and other internal Gallo research. Assists in the design of Commercial Insights & Strategy market research projects and executes research strategies for those projects by representing needs of key business partners. Supports and executes best approaches for Commercial Insights & Strategy market research data and works cross-functionally with key business partners such as Brand Marketing, Commerce Marketing and Customer Development. Translates data and information from data, dashboards, etc. into actionable insights and compelling presentations.
Essential Functions
• Translates research into compelling project presentations and stories for multiple customer-facing audiences such as Commerce Marketing and Customer Development.
• Provides end-to-end project management support for Commercial Insights & Strategy market research projects to include research design, vendor management, analytical plans, data interpretation and presentation/report writing.
• Collaborates with Commercial Insights & Strategy business partners to identify and anticipate needs and opportunities to inform research plan development, execution, data analysis, reporting and story creation.
• Leads basic and moderately complex internal research and data analytics projects.
• Uses descriptive analyses to assess channel, category, customer (off and on premise), brand performance and trends in across primary (e.g., VOICE) and secondary (e.g., IRI, Spectra, NABCA) data sources.
• Responsible for in-house marketing, commerce marketing and customer development effectiveness analysis and looks critically at data to highlight any discrepancies and formulate hypothesis to help explain findings. Shares results with the insights managers and translators.
• Prepares annual review of category, channel, customer and competitive performance (SOV, Switching, basket analysis, loyalty analysis, buyer value, churn rates, etc.).
• Interprets data and provides cohesive solutions to business and marketing issues, leveraging insights from multiple sources of information, including but not limited to existing winery data, internal consumer research, secondary data sources.
• Adapts research & project presentations for multiple audiences.
• Aids in development of Commercial Insights & Strategy knowledge library and creation of SOP's, best practices.
• Supports development of and may include programming online surveys and related stimulus for internal Gallo research and ensures online survey meets project specifications.
• Conducts quality assurance of research data.
• Communicates complex ideas via a range of methods and data visualization.
• Writes detailed reports, charts, and data tables summarizing research including conducting metaanalysis across multiple sources.
• Develops reporting tools, such as PowerPoint presentations, scorecards, templates.
• Assists in the recommendation and implementation of new standardized data acquisition and research methodologies and future vendor assessments.
• Independently manages multiple projects.
• Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
• Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
• Master's degree plus 2 years of marketing research or data analysis experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's Degree plus 4 years of marketing research or data analysis reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 8 years of experience in marketing research or data analysis reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
• Previous direct, hands-on experience working with DIY research platforms (e.g. Zappi, Toluna, Qualtrics, Alchemer, Suzy) in addition to programming, execution/monitoring and reporting.
• Knowledge of foundational research methodologies across qualitative and quantitative approaches (e.g. pack testing, concept testing, creative testing, quantitative surveys, online qualitative research).
• Collaborative work style with the ability to develop your own opinions and recommendations but open to other points of view with the ability to pivot when needed.
• Passion for building, fostering and growing relationships with internal team and clients to establish discipline as valuable partner.
• Experience extracting actionable implications and insights from large, complex, data sets.
• Proficient in data analysis and presentation tools such as Excel and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrate history of managing multiple projects with increased complexity over time.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills with ability to adapt information, positioning and delivery to different audiences across the enterprise.
• Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
