Luxury Concierge/Greeter/Host (with tips)

Job Description:

We are looking for an energetic, positive person to be the first contact for guests at our winery. We work hard, have fun and give our guests the ultimate wine and food experience. You will be the most important person on our hospitality staff. This position will be key to ensuring our guests receive the highest level of luxury hospitality. You will be the first contact for most of our guests via email, phone and in-person. It is essential that the successful candidate have a positive attitude, be energetic, a self-starter, and a team player. We are looking for someone with a bubbly personality, professional demeanor, strong organizational skills, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to prioritize workload and most importantly, multi-task. We are a family run business and a smaller "by appointment" winery that focuses on wine and food pairings. The perfect candidate will be able to work every weekend and be able to talk about our wines as well as recommend other wineries and restaurants in Napa Valley that our guests will love.

We treat both our guests and our employees like family. Our Concierge is included in our tip pool, receives a monthly allocation of wine, and gets tons of great perks. (401K with matching, a yearly FSA account, medical benefits, Bi-weekly blind tastings with the staff, and employee parties, etc.)

Base pay is between $21-$26 an hour DOE. After the tips, wine club sign up perks, ect, you will make an additional $3-5 an hour.

Please be aware we are located between St Helena and Calistoga.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•  Responds to appointment phone, text and e mail requests in a timely and professional manner for winery tours and tastings.
•  Work collaboratively with the winery management to organize and manage the daily guest experience.
•  Coordinate the daily visitation flow of the tasting room.
•  Manage all verbal and written communication to customers and visitors including confirmation of guest visit, follow-up and special requests.
•  Engage and obtain key pieces of data about the guest, including who referred them, where they are staying and other wineries they are visiting.
•  Assist visitors with recommendations of other wineries, hotels, restaurants and spas.
•  Build and maintain relationships with other industry professionals for referrals to the winery.
•  Record pick-ups from the winery and assist with customer shipping questions.
•  Provide back-up support to the team for set-up and clearing tables.
•  Continuously monitor the general appearance and ambience of the lobby, terrace tasting room and other areas throughout the day.
•  Assist in the daily activities necessary to complete the opening and closing check list.
•  Post, comment, and interact with fans across our social media channels.

Education, Training and Other Requirements:

•  Greet guests with a positive, outgoing, and professional manner.
•  Past concierge or winery host experience at a Napa Valley winery a plus but we are willing to train the right person.
•  Must be able to work every weekend. Shift is 8:30am-5pm.
•  Must have knowledge of food and wine with a desire to continually learn new information and be willing share information with others.
•  Be able to remain calm and professional during peak season visitations.
•  Be detail oriented and possess the ability to manage and maintain reservations within an organizational system.
•  Proficiency in POS systems, (E-cellar experience a plus) Microsoft Office, and Excel.
•  Ability to speak in front of groups with comfort and ease.
•  Must have a positive attitude and outlook with the ability to work within a team environment.
•  Must be 21 years old.
•  Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
•  AA or BA degree helpful, but not required.
•  Must be able to work in a sitting and or standing position for long periods of time.
•  Must be able to work in a busy weekend tasting room environment.
•  Experience with a luxury wine brand and facility is a plus.
•  Valid California Driver’s License.
•  Ability to obtain a food handlers permit.
