Across the newsdesk this week is an announcement from The Bordeaux Wine Council. They are inviting wine producers and their U.S. importers importers to submit Bordeaux wines priced between $10 and $55 retail for Today's Bordeaux: 100 wines under $55. Now in its ninth year, the campaign highlights affordable Bordeaux wines available in the U.S.

All wines should be between $10-$55 retail and must be sold in one or more of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington D.C., and Washington State.

Importers are invited to submit wines from any Bordeaux appellation and are required to submit a technical sheet with the following information:

• Suggested retail price.
• Number of cases imported.
• The grape varieties used in a blend if not listed on the label.
• High-resolution wine label for each wine (English description preferred).

Submissions with the following information may be more likely to attract press attention. We appreciate receiving the following supplemental information if available:

• Full name, photo and bio brief for each winemaker.
• Key quote from the winemaker: what makes this wine, vineyard or location unique (features/benefits).
• Brief description about the chateau.
• List of where wines can be purchased in the U.S.
• Technical data sheet.

There are no entry fees or limit to the number of nominations importers and distributors may submit, however, you must submit four bottles of each wine you plan to submit.

Participating Bordeaux producers and importers will be informed of the winners by June 6, 2014. They will also be sent brief evaluations of their submissions.
