The 2013 Innovation Awards for VITeff, the sparkling wine technology exhibition, were announced last week in Eperany, France at the four-day trade show.

These awards are given to companies who are considered the most innovative in the field of champagne. Companies compete in the following four categories: "Viticulture," "Packaging," "Oenology" and "Sustainable Development."

This year, 12 products were chosen for the awards.

One of the products that was awarded was Skin Evolution—the latest patented product by EOS. The first stretchable sheath which covers a champagne bottle, the product is considered a major innovation in luxury product packaging.

The skin is made from thermo plastic elastomer, is 1.5mm thick, and is recyclable.
