Texas Tech Students to Present Research at ASEV

Three Texas Tech students have been selected to present their research at the American Society for Enology and Viticulture National Conference in Monterey, California on June 26-27.

The presentations include:

Viticulture: The effects of sunlight and LED light on methoxypyrazine content of ripening berries of Cabernet Sauvignon by Cassandra Plank and Ed Hellman

Enology: (1) Post-harvest high heat treatment on grapes and the effects on wine quality relating compounds by Yanmei Zhang and Brent Trela; (2) Evaluation of Qvevri in Winemaking by Yanmei Zhang, Kyle Johnston, and Brent Trela

The students are hoping to secure sponsors to help support the two enology students travel and lodging. For those so inclined, funds can be submitted here.
