Debbie Reynolds, executive director of the Texas Wine & Grape Growers Association, reports that the Economic Impact of Wine and Wine Grapes on the Texas Economy report is now available to download from the TWGGA website.
The latest economic study (as of December 31, 2011) shows a $1.83 billion impact of wine and wine grapes on the Texas economy. With significant increases in the number of new Texas wineries and vineyards, the Texas wine and grape industry is poised to continue its growth pattern. The 4,400 acres of vineyard and 273 wineries (as of January 18, 2013) continue to grow the economic impact year over year.
"The $1.83 billion impact and other statistics are cause for celebration."
Also, if you'd still like to register to attend or exhibit at the TWGGA Conference and Trade Show on Feb. 14-16, Reynolds recommends that you do it soon. The Embassy Suites San Marcos is completely sold out. Additional hotels in the area are available but their space is going quickly. Check out hotel details on the TWGGA website.
