Viticulture & Winery Apprenticeship – Napa Valley Estate
We are a Napa Valley estate winery and vineyard located in Calistoga, part of the Artemis Domaines family, with over 20 years of certified biodynamic farming. Our team oversees the full production cycle of winegrowing and winemaking on a single site, with a primary focus on Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc.
We are offering a full-season apprenticeship from March through December 2026, designed for individuals seeking practical experience in estate viticulture, winemaking, and applied research. The role is hands-on, with training across key seasonal tasks in both the vineyard and winery.
Responsibilities:
Vineyard:
o Crop estimation and maturity monitoring (Brix, pH, TA, berry weight)
o Pressure bomb measurements (vine water potential)
o Disease and pest scouting, trap monitoring
o Irrigation checks, canopy and soil condition assessments
o Support for research trials and data collection
o management of onsite biodynamic garden and BD preparations
Winery:
o Grape receiving, fermentation management (pump-overs, punchdowns)
o Pressing, racking, barrel work
o Small-scale lab analysis (Brix, pH, TA, etc.)
o Bottling
Data & Trials:
o Assist with internal R&D projects in both vineyard and winery
o Maintain organized records using internal systems
Requirements:
• Coursework or experience in viticulture, enology, or plant science preferred
• Interest in biodynamic or regenerative farming strongly encouraged
• Physically able to work in outdoor environments and lift 40+ lbs
• Valid driver’s license and U.S. work authorization required
