Number of U.S. Wineries Count Reaches 7,116, up 5 percent in 2011 compared to 9 percent year before

The total number of wineries in the U.S. increased by 331 over 2010, to reach a new high of 7,116, based on data as of November 1, 2011, according to Wine Business Monthly’s proprietary database (see Methodology). This total is made up of 6,027 bonded wineries and 1,089 virtual wineries (see definitions in the U.S. Wineries sidebar).
