Pinot Noir is properly called the “heartbreak grape” by author Marq DeVillers. I was reminded of this recently when I opened a vineyard-designated Anderson Valley Pinot Noir that was on special in our local market. The Anderson Valley is one of my favorite California appellations for Pinot Noir, but this particular wine broke my heart.
