The top wine price-points over the past couple of years have mostly hovered at the lower end of the scale. Retail sales of $10 a bottle were the hot ticket, and big spenders sometimes pushed the till up to $15 or $16. Off-premise operators were hardly seeing much enthusiasm for wineries’ new $100 releases.
