Wineries Taking First Steps in Carbon-Neutral Shipping
For little money, wineries can support programs that offset the environmental costs of transporting wine.

Many wineries are attempting to reduce their carbon footprints in various ways; one method is by offsetting the carbon dioxide given off in shipping activities. Fulfillment company Copper Peak Logistics in Benicia, California started last year offering a program to compensate for the carbon dioxide created during shipping, and United Parcel Service (UPS) became the first major small-package carrier in the United States to unveil a carbon neutral program in the U.S. last fall.
