Retail Sales Analysis: Wine Sales Up 2 Percent in October

Wine sales for October were up 2.3 percent from the same period last year in The Nielsen Company-tracked data. The 2.3 percent growth in October all took place in wines retailing under $15. Wines retailing for under $6 grew 5 percent while wines retailing for $9 to $14.99 grew about 4 percent. Wines retailing for $6 to $8.99 declined about 3 percent and sales of wines above $15 decreased by about 2 percent.
