The results of the 2009 Barrel and Oak Survey Report are in, and at the risk of stating the obvious, the recession is having a significant impact on barrel purchases. As one would expect, the sales of wines at the top end have been hit the hardest as consumers cut back while lower-priced wines tend to be doing relatively, albeit not uniformly, well by comparison.
