An erratic economy creates new ups and downs for the off-premise sector.

As the recession continues, many restaurants continue to see fewer customers and reduced check averages. Many retailers have also seen a downtick in quantities purchased and the average amount spent per bottle. Others, however, are benefiting substantially from the stay-at-home trend that allows consumer spending to go much further than it would at a restaurant.
