The results of Wine Business Monthly's 2008 capsule survey show that while the price of tin as a raw material continues to rise dramatically, tin capsule usage among wineries, especially small ones, remains strong. Rod Keeling of Keeling-Schaefer Vineyards in Pearce, Arizona (2,500 cases) has decided to stay with tin capsules for his entire production of Syrah and Grenache wines (ranging from $15 to $18 per bottle) despite tin's rising price...
