As of mid-December 2007, seven, or 23 percent, of the companies listed in Wine Business Monthly's Top 30 U.S. Wine Companies of 2003 had been acquired by other Top 30 companies. The most recent of these headline-grabbing consolidations in 2007 was the announced sale of Beam Wine Estates to Constellation Brands.
