Even Mother Nature can't make everyone in her kingdom happy. Our magnolia tree loved the recent heat wave here in California, putting out huge, glorious white blooms. The tomato plants grew like crazy, finally starting to color and ripen their fruit. On the other hand, the heat baked into the ground and reflected up onto the plants in Jakelyn's mother's garden.
