Imported Wine Sales Represent 21 Percent of Total Market Case Volume; Imports Most Successful in $7-$11 Segment

Imported wine sales are on the rise and are taking market share from domestic wines. Imports currently account for 21 percent of case volume and 26 percent of dollar sales in the ACNielsen-tracked food store retail channel*. In terms of case sales, imported wines, at 21 percent market share, are up 4 percent from August 2003 when imports accounted for 17 percent of the market.
