Wineries Face Liability Under Prop 65
To ensure compliance, any winery using chemicals or selling products containing Prop 65-listed chemicals should assume that a warning is required.

Just as California wineries were preparing for the crush, several received letters threatening lawsuits for violation of Proposition 65. The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act letters alleged that the wineries sold glassware containing toxic metals without providing a warning as required by Prop 65.
