After months of unrest, Pernod Ricard has completed their $12.8 billion purchase of Allied Domecq, thus becoming the second-largest drinks company in the world behind Diageo. French-based Pernod Ricard then sold off 21 brands to American company Fortune Brands, which provided Pernod with roughly $5 billion for the Allied purchase.
