Washington Colleges Prepare to Train More Industry Employees
In response to a rapidly growing Washington state wine industry, the Washington Wine Education Consortium is helping local colleges to produce more industry professionals.

The need for trained vineyard and winery employees has increased steadily with the growth of the Washington wine industry. Washington is the second largest wine-producing state in the U.S., with more than 300 wineries and over 30,000 acres of vineyards. The Washington wine industry employs over 11,000 full-time workers, with an annual $2.4 billion impact on the state's economy.
