Over the last several months, dollar sales of wine have consistently risen at about double the pace of sales by volume, indicating that the average unit price for wine sold is also rising. As of the 52 weeks ending March 12, 2005, dollar sales of wines, in total, increased 7.0 percent over the year before, while volume rose by 3.2 percent.
