Salaries increase as industry meets the new demands of a more specialized and technical workforce.

Compensation for wine business employees is on the rise, according to the 2004 Wine Business Monthly Salary Survey, which revealed an average salary increase of 14 percent from 2003 to 2004. This increase is higher than the average increase for workers in the US, which was reported to be about 4 percent for the year ending June 2004, as measured by the Employment Cost Index (CPI).
