August. The year has been zipping by and harvest is quickly approaching. Lately the weather has been cool but growers here in Sonoma have been bracing for an early harvest. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes are said to be running about three weeks ahead of average. Hot weather this season brought premature bud break and bloom was nearly a month early.
