A major proposal to divide the original 458,000-acre Lodi American Viticultural Area (AVA), established in 1986, into seven sub-AVAs is being reviewed by the Federal Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) and is expected to be noticed in the Federal Register as a proposed rulemaking for public comment in the near future.
