According to the 2001 World Wine Report, Australia leads the world with a 52 percent market share of Bag-in-box sales, by volume. Norway rates number two at 33 percent and the US is a distant third, at 18 percent. That means that roughly one in five glasses of wine poured in the US come out of boxes labeled Almaden, Franzia, Peter Vella and others.
