It's November so it must be time for my Hungarian oak column. I must confess that I do seem to write about them a lot. The simple fact is I just plain like Hungarian oak. Now I'll be the first to admit that Central European oak is not the best choice for all applications. My personal preference is derived in part to my particular experiences as a winemaker. I have been fortunate enough to make wines that have been, by luck or design, particularly amenable to maturation in the tight grained heart...
