During August the Dow almost stalled out its freefall, falling only 0.84% from July. The Nasdaq fell a comparable 1% while the S&P 500 managed to claw its way back to finish August up 0.49% over July. Re-instilling one's faith in the robustness of the drinks sector, the Wine Business Stock Index finished August up 0.38%.Over the longer term, things are not so rosy.
