As weather patterns continue to change throughout the country, wineries could find themselves without enough water. In 2008, seven of the 13 leading wine-producing states suffered from severe water restrictions (see “The End of Cheap Plentiful Water,” WBM, December 2008), and in 2014, it is fair to say things have not improved—California Governor Jerry Brown officially declared a drought emergency in January.
