Total production in the Central Coast region reached 8.9 million cases in 2013, up significantly from 7 million the year prior. Much of that growth came from 47 new wineries (27 in San Luis Obispo County, 13 in Santa Barbara County, five in Monterey County and two in Santa Cruz County) and increased production from existing wineries.
