Data from the crush and acreage reports coupled with less than average yields in recent years and consumer demand for sweet red wine indicate there may be a shortage of Zinfandel. Although the data indicates a shorter than ever supply, brokerages are cautioning the industry to not make long-term decisions based on short-term trends.
