Haverhill, MA. - The Filtration and Separation Division of Parker Hannifin Corporation, the global leader in motion and control technologies, has introduced a new line of Balston® Nitrogen Generators specifically for wineries.
The use of nitrogen is critical at multiple points in the winemaking process, including bottling, transfer and storage. A nitrogen blanket will reduce the contact between oxygen and the wine surface, preventing the growth of bacteria and other microbes. Nitrogen is also used to purge air from pipes and hoses prior to bottling to ensure oxygen is not introduced during transport. Sparging with nitrogen will remove any oxygen or carbon dioxide introduced during handling helping to preserve wine integrity.
A Parker Balston WineMaker Series Nitrogen Generator will supply a continuous stream of high purity nitrogen to displace residual oxygen, preserving taste and freshness, and extending shelf life. The system is designed to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week without operator attention and will service wineries producing more than 5,000 cases. A Balston WineMaker Series nitrogen generator is designed specifically for operation in wineries and is shipped complete with a digital flowmeter, nitrogen storage tank, high efficiency coalescing filtration system. An oxygen analyzer is available as an option.
A Parker Balston WineMaker Series nitrogen generator allows wineries to eliminate the inconvenience of and dependence on 3rd party supplied cylinders, dewars or bulk nitrogen. Costly downtime, tank rental fees, hazmat fees, delivery fuel surcharges, price increases, evaporation concerns, and multi-year lease agreements will be eliminated.
Installation consists of simply connecting a standard compressed air line to the inlet of the generator and connecting the outlet to the nitrogen line. The system plugs into a standard 110 volt outlet and is portable and expandable. Lease to own options are available.
