Cork'd and VinoVisit Announce Partnership -- Wine Lovers to Book Real-Time Tasting Reservations, Share Peer Reviews and Ratings on Wines and Wineries

Date: 02/18/10

VinoVisit.com, a winery search engine, enables visitors to search, then select and winery tours and wine tasting events by location, varietal, and dozens of other attributes. Winery profiles include robust descriptions, photo galleries, video, maps, visitor reviews and ratings. Real-time reservation bookings, multi-day itinerary-building tools, turn-by-turn directions and closed-loop visitor reviews make it easy for wine lovers to plan winery visits.

Cork’d, an online social network for wine lovers invites users to review, share and discuss wine. Wine drinkers can interact with one another and with wineries, creating a giant playground for wine lovers. Through its partnership with VinoVisit, Cork’d will add winery reservation functionality to winery profile pages making it easy for visitors to book a visit. Cork’d can also include visitor reviews of the winery experience, and leverage VinoVisit’s travel planning and itinerary building tools.

VinoVisit will include Cork’d wine reviews on its winery profile pages, further enhancing the user experience in researching and booking wine tasting reservations and winery tours. VinoVisit’s post-visit survey will capture wine reviews that will then be shared exclusively on Cork’d winery profiles.

Gary Vaynerchuk, Cork’d owner, reminds us: “Humans have a basic need to belong, to share experiences and opinions. It’s also not surprising how powerful peer reviews are in decision-making. Amazon and Yelp have proved that a thousand times over. Cork’d wine reviews and VinoVisit winery reviews will be very informative to wineries, and useful to consumers making wine purchases or planning wine trips.”

VinoVisit CEO Dan Lintz believes that winemakers and wineries will reap the rewards of this partnership. “The online community of wine lovers that Gary has gathered and Cork’d visitors will have yet one more way to engage with a winery’s brand. From reading peer reviews about the wines, to purchasing them online, to visiting the winery’s tasting room and meeting the winemaker, to sharing their experiences at the winery, wineries have even more opportunities to engage consumers.”

Lindsay Ronga, CEO of Cork’d, sees many opportunities unfolding from the partnership beyond the initial plans. “Our objective is to create an online community of wine lovers who taste, review and share their experiences with wine; and VinoVisit’s purpose is to connect winery tasting rooms with that same online community. The real winner here is the consumer who will now have access to a depth and breadth of wine and winery information that is relevant, well-organized and interactive.”
