CellarPass Announces 2014 Destination Awards Program
ST. HELENA, CA, March 18, 2014 – CellarPass, the first online and mobile reservations system for Wine Country tasting and event opportunities, announces its inaugural CellarPass Destination Awards program, which honors CellarPass destination wineries and tasting room personnel for customer-service excellence. Nominations for each award category can be completed by anyone online.
Starting, Monday, March 18 through April 30, 2014, wine consumers and travel industry professionals are invited to participate in the online nomination survey. With just a couple of clicks, users can select nominees for the following award categories: Best Unique Tasting Experience; Most Friendly & Knowledgeable Staff; Best Food & Wine Pairing; Best Wine Education Experience; Best Hidden Gem; and Best Romantic Destination. A winner and two runner-ups will be selected for each category and announced during a live broadcast on CellarPassTV on May 14 at 4:45 p.m. PDT.
“In 2011, we launched the CellarPass Winery Experience Reviews feature, which has allowed our destination members to be recognized for their hard work and dedication to customer service excellence,” said Sarah Elliman, co-founder of the CellarPass service. “The awards program is the next step in recognizing those winery destinations and experiences that set the hospitality standard for wine country.”
The awards program is one of several strategic programs that CellarPass is undertaking in 2014. Recently, the company launched a new site that incorporates extensive design improvements, including how its destination partners are listed on CellarPass.com. “The site’s new design automatically recognizes our destination partners based on their popularity as determined by guest reviews, listing the highest scored first,” explained Jonathan Elliman, co-founder of CellarPass. “Wineries will now be listed in order of those that generate the most positive guest reviews, so the more reservations and stellar reviews they receive from their guests, the closer they move to the top of the list.” As part of the announcement of the Destination Award winners, CellarPass fill feature the winners in a new category available on their website.
Since the launch of CellarPass’ Winery Experience Reviews system, the company has received over 75,000 reviews covering more than 80 percent of participating wineries. In a recent user survey, CellarPass learned that customer reviews significantly influence their choice of Wine Country destinations, ranking third behind location and price, respectively.
