Date: 05/02/13

A leader in packaging and marketing solutions for the wine industry, Wright Labels, a division of Wright Global Graphic Solutions, won “Best of Category” in Flexographic Tags & Labels at the Printing Industry of the Carolinas (PICA) Awards. The announcement was made on April 27th during the 2012 PICA Awards Banquet in Concord, North Carolina with more than 300 industry professionals in attendance. The PICA Awards is one of the largest printing competitions in the nation.

In addition to winning the Best of Category award, Wright also won three Special Judges awards for digital printing excellence in the Tags and Labels group as well as five Awards of Excellence – three for wine labels, one for packaging and one for wide format printing.

“We are honored to have received these prestigious awards,” said Wright President and CEO Greg Wright. “It is especially gratifying to know that our company’s ongoing dedication to printing excellence and our commitment to exceeding customers’ expectations when it comes to their printing needs are being acknowledged by the industry. Winning these awards would not be possible without the dedication of our employees and the confidence of our customers in allowing us to get creative in the printing process.”

This year, the PICA Awards attracted nearly 1,000 entries. Judging criteria included: registration, crossovers, clarity and neatness, sharpness of halftones and line drawings, richness and tonal qualities of color, paper and ink selection, ink coverage, difficulty of printing, effective contrast or softness, finishing, bindery and overall visual impact.
