The Vintner Group of Ashland, Virginia, an importer of fine wines and distributor of fine wines and craft spirits, has acquired Prestige Wine Wholesale, of Atlanta, Georgia. The acquisition adds Georgia to TVG’s wholesale footprint of Delaware, Maryland, Washington, D.C., West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina (trading as The Country Vintner) and Florida (as Stacole Fine Wines.)

Jon and Jim built a foundation on quality wines, great people and stellar service and we are investing in the extension and growth of their concept,” said David Townsend, president and CEO of The Vintner Group.

Dating from 1980, The Vintner Group is the premiere dedicated fine wine and craft spirit wholesaler in the U.S. TVG’s knowledge-based sales culture and customer-centric approach have allowed the company to grow organically and independently. In addition to the distribution businesses, a national import arm, Craft + Estate, now services 44 states and The American Still Life Collection, a craft spirit portfolio, was launched in 2011 and is also sold nationally.

Founded in 1990, Prestige Wine Wholesale was acquired by Jon George and Jim Sculley in 2001. Prestige is a statewide distributor serving on- and off-premise accounts with a thoughtful book comprised of both domestic and imported fine wines. George and Sculley will join The Vintner Group executive team and will continue to manage the daily operations in Georgia.
