INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA 2013: New ideas in cultivation and harvesting technology

Date: 12/14/12

INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA is an innovation trade fair with global appeal. The next trade fair, slated for April 24-27, 2013 will focus on innovation in cultivation and harvesting technology, and a separate hall has been dedicated to this area.

"In Stuttgart we will present innovations on the topics of soil cultivation, mowing and rootstock extraction," said Bernd Clemens, managing director of Clemens Technologies. Together with the company Wagner Pflanzen-Technik (Friedelsheim) the mechanical engineering company from Wittlich, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, has further developed a device for extracting waste wood from the wire frame. Its name: Kobold. According to Clemens, "in general" the further mechanization and automation of external trade are "the order of the day." For businesses it is about cost savings, reliable yields and sustainable soil cultivation.

Messe Stuttgart and the German Winegrowers' Association, the organizers of INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA 2013, have come up with a novel idea: the machine demonstrations will no longer take place indoors, but outside beside Hall 1. An elevated section will be used for the creation of a steep-slope winegrowing area. Every afternoon 2:00 p.m., 1,800 visitors can watch the stands live demonstrations of state-of-the-art agricultural machinery with machines from exhibitor companies such as Holder, Fendt, iNew Holland, KMS Rinklin, Braun, Wanner, Sexauer and others. The management of the machine demonstrations lies in the hands of the Committee for Technology in Viticulture (ATW).

The Export Organisation of South Tyrol (EOS) of the Bolzano/Bozen Chamber of Commerce will be represented for the first time with its own stand at INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA. The 400 square metre joint stand in Hall 1 will showcase innovations from various exhibitors in the area of mulching equipment, spraying devices, lifting platforms, stacking devices, as well as weed control equipment and thinning out methods. At the stand of the Agricultural Trade Cooperatives, the focus is on topics such as load security, storage of hazardous materials, working platforms, box transport and preventative health protection. Several stations offering minor health checks and nutritional advice are also present.

Meanwhile the organizers of INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA 2013 are registering a high degree of interest in exhibition space at the leading technology trade fair for the production of wine, fruit, fruit juice and spirits. The registration status, according to Andreas Schnabel and Monique Mayer from the Project Team of INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA, is "significantly above that of the previous event". Approximately 620 exhibitors (2010: 590) are expected from April 24-27, 2013 on roughly 60,000 square metres of exhibition space – a third of whom are coming from outside Germany.

Exhibitors who have already confirmed their booking in the area of cultivation and harvesting technology alone include well-known names such as Agricolmeccanica, APE Impianti and Antonio Carraro (Italy), Baertschi Agrartecnic (Switzerland), Bayer Crop Science, Berthoud Agricole and Euroviti (France), Braun Maschinenbau, Caffini (Italy), KMS Rinklin, Claas, Clemens, Letina (Croatia), De Wild (Netherlands), GAI (Italy), Industrias David (Spain), Max Holder, NIKO, Pellenc (France), SAME Deutz-Fahr, Syngenta Agro, Tecnoma Technologies (France) and Tehnos and Zupan (Slovenia).
