Chain Manager - SE Zone: Responsible for achieving company objectives for sales and distribution in retail chains within the Southeast zone. The Chain Manager will work with distributor and FWE’s personnel to establish strong portfolio presence at chain headquarter level in order to maximize opportunities for sales and distribution. It will be critical for the Chain Manager to develop and build relationships with the Category Managers and Buyers within the respective chain accounts. The Chain Manager will play an active role in participating in the business planning process, with Foster’s internal and external customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Develop and deliver customized, professional sales presentations at the headquarter level for all assigned chain accounts
• Develop annual business plans by account, identifying opportunities which will help deliver Fiscal Year volume and point goals
• Build and develop relationships within each assigned chain account and gain a fundamental understanding of the customers business and overall category goals and objectives
• Work with FWE Category Manager to identify objective selling opportunities to grow FWE volume and value within each assigned account
• Grow FWE Share, Feature & Display and Distribution as measured by AC Nielsen.
• Implement and execute National Brand Plans and Activity Calendars within assigned accounts
• Collaborate with FWE Trade Marketing Manager to develop and customize local Programming relevant to assigned chain accounts
• Work with FWE Regional Managers and Sales Managers to coordinate and implement pricing within each chain, while adhering to brand guidelines
• Work with key distributor chain personnel in implementing and executing sales goals and targets within each account
• Identifying new placement opportunities
• Consistently communicate monthly and quarterly chain Programs, Ads and Planners internally to FWE Regional Managers/State Managers as well as externally to distributor network
• Manage Trade Budget and SG&A budget effectively and efficiently

• Make impactful presentations to distributor chain management and sales management
• Develop and execute long-term plans and strategies for developing customers
• Administrate and track promotional programs, meeting the quality standards for administration of sophisticated corporate customers
• Educate and motivate distributor personnel to sell our products
• Make decisions that balance the goals of customers and company priorities and strategies
• Understand and implement Foster’s priorities and new products as they are developed
• High level of creativity and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proven negotiation skills; ability to effectively produce win-win solutions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Strong persuasive presentation skills, including the ability to speak before large audiences both internally or externally, required
• Ability to manage tasks and to exercise independent judgment without supervision
• Strong analytical skills required. Ability to develop customer / distributor strategies, programs, and promotions based on competitive data to meet overall company objectives while meeting customer needs essential
• Excellent organization skills, multi-tasking, and project management skills required, including the ability to manage multiple competing priorities essential
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
• A minimum 5-10 years industry experience (preferably wine) calling on multi classes of trade including grocery and club at the headquarter level
• Experience in Distributor Management role strongly preferred.
• Commercial experience and involvement in managing chain accounts strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), desktop publishing programs.
