David Sandri Earns Certified Specialist of Wine Title from the Society of Wine Educators

David Sandri, wine-industry veteran of over 20 years and current Rohnert Park resident, has earned the title of Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) from the Society of Wine Educators, an international organization whose mission is to advance wine education through professional development and certification. Mr. Sandri, also has 10 years wine judging experience in top-tier competitions such as the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition, Florida State Fair International Wine Competition, WineMaker Magazine International Competition and Denver International Wine Competition along with numerous competitions throughout California.

“I’m pleased to complete this challenging accomplishment,” said David. “My goal in continually exploring the vast topic of wine is inspiring others and sharing my knowledge.”

David is internationally published on diverse topics including winery compliance, smoke taint in wine, along with regional winery and vineyard history. Current work includes a project on creating a handbook on winery permitting and reporting (for publication later in 2012). In addition, Mr. Sandri is also certified in TCA detection. He currently works for Winesecrets, North America's leading provider of production technologies that improve production efficiency, eco-performance, and quality for wine producers.

Born and raised in the East Bay area, David Sandri pursued his continued education at Sonoma State University, Fresno State University and UC Davis. His extensive experience in wine industry covers more than 20 years and experience in retail buying, wholesaling, tasting room management, vineyard operations, winery operations, logistics, and winery compliance. Today, David’s speciality is compliance thanks to more than ten years experience with wineries of all sizes. He helps customers navigate the challenging waters of wine regulation. He regularly lectures in the Sonoma State University Wine program on various topics, and is currently developing wine appreciation courses through College of Marin. He has presented to groups including CIA-Greystone, VESTA, Southern Oregon Wine Institute, and various regional appellation organizations.
