Trinchero Family Estates is pleased to announce Vice Chairman & CEO, Roger Trinchero, has accepted the Patriot Award for the company’s support of the National Guard and Reserve Forces. The Patriot Award is given by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense organization, to companies with personnel policies benefiting employees serving in the United States Armed Forces.
Roger Trinchero, a Vietnam veteran, was nominated for the award by Christopher F. Burton, a Major serving in the United States Army Reserve, currently deployed on active duty. Burton, a Sutter Home Winery tasting room employee for the past several years, was pulled from retirement in 2009 to serve two tours in Iraq. He currently is stationed in Alabama. Trinchero Family Estates policy supports Chris and other veterans by holding their jobs for them, providing guaranteed employment when they return from their duties.
“The men and women serving America deserve to be honored and supported while they are out protecting our country, risking life and limb,” said Roger Trinchero. “We are honored to support Chris during his time in the Army, and if we can be an example to other companies on how to support these amazing employees - who also happen to be troops - we are happy to do so.”
The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) department conducts an awards program designed to recognize employers that support a strong National Guard and Reserve Force. Employers qualify for recognition by practicing leadership and personnel policies that support employee participation in the Guard and Reserve. The ESGR was established in 1972 and has recognized thousands of American companies for their support of the military.
