Trialto Wine Group Hires Tom Wilson as Vice President, Business Development

Trialto Wine Group Ltd. has hired Tom Wilson to the position of Vice President, Business Development. In this newly created role, Wilson will help build strong liquor board customer relationships, improve our business processes and continue our portfolio development in support of our pan-Canadian market coverage for our winery partners. Wilson will report to Trialto President Rick Toller and will be based in Trialto’s Toronto office.

Wilson brings over 35 years of industry experience to the Trialto Senior Management Team. He joined the LCBO as a Distribution Analyst and worked through strategic and operational areas of the LCBO leading to his appointment as head of Vintages in 1992. While under his leadership, LCBO Vintages became one of the world leaders in retailing of premium wines and spirits and grew in annual sales from CAD $25 million to CAD $425 million. Wilson has built relationships with the most important wine producers in the world and led a team that kept Vintages at the forefront of wine retailing, marketing and promotions worldwide. Wilson is a native of Toronto, Ontario and is passionate about wine, food and travel.

“This is a very exciting addition to our team at Trialto,” noted Rick Toller, Trialto President. “Tom’s experience in running the premium wine division of one of our largest customers will bring valuable insights and leadership into our organization. As Trialto continues to grow, Tom will help develop the strategies and processes that will ensure we deliver on our mandate to serve our winery partners, customers and valued employees. Tom’s relationships around the world will help make our organization better and will allow us to continue to expand our existing winery relationships across Canada.”

About Trialto:
The Trialto philosophy is wines of people, place and time: “The wines we represent tell a story about the people that make them, the place they come from and the period in which they are made,” says Toller. “This guides our entire business, as the Trialto focus is to source, import, market and sell wines from premium family-owned wineries representing important wine regions around the world. We represent incredible premium wines from around the world and serve the Canadian market by helping liquor boards, retailers and restaurants source, sell and market these wines,” he continues.” We measure our success by the success of our winery partners and the success of our channel customers.”
